Information

During 4 days the trainees will acquire a basic knowledge how to create, measure and maintain vacuum. Vacuum has properties unknown in our daily surroundings, i.e., there is no standard reference with daily life for people not involved in vacuum technique. To develop the required level of perception and understanding many exercises and calculations will be made during the course.

Intended for

The course “Introduction in ultra high and ultra clean vacuum” is meant for employees of BSc and higher level responsible for constructions in ultra clean vacuum in any way. These employees could be in Research and Development, (Production) Engineering, Purchase, Management, et cetera.


Programme

  • Introduction, basic principles and properties of gases at low pressures (surfaces related to pumping speeds, diffusion);
  • Flow of gases (viscous, molecular & intermediate regime);
  • Pressure measurement, partial pressure measurement and residual gas analysis;
  • Dry vacuum pumps and molecular pumps;
  • Materials properties and materials selection;
  • Flanges and fittings;
  • Leak tightness and testing;
  • Cleaning and working procedures.

 

This course is organized under the auspices of NEVAC (Nederlandse Vacuumvereniging).
