Huub Janssen (1959) was for seven years the face of the training ‘Design principles for precision engineering’.
After his mechanical engineering studies at TU Eindhoven Janssen worked for several years at ASML on the first PAS2500- wafer stepper. After, he developed production equipment for LCDs by Philips business mechanization in Heerlen. Couple years later he began his own engineering office of Janssen Precision Engineering (JPE). ‘During my graduation I also worked for a real customer with a real technical problem, including the question of hardware. That was just my thing’, Janssen said in High Tech Systems magazine.
In 2010, Huub Janssen received the Rien Koster award for the high level at which he practiced with his Janssen Precision Engineering (JPE) in the field of precision technology. In addition to summarizing the advanced work he did for his clients, the jury also emphasized Janssen’s attention to coaching and training his employees.
The JPE, located next to Maastricht Airport, has registered dozens of patents for their inventions.
